Peter Kelly, PhD joined Lifescience Dynamics in 2019 as an Engagement Manager. Peter brings diverse experience from finance, business, strategy, relationship and project management and scientific training to help his clients achieve success.

Prior to joining Lifescience Dynamics, Peter worked in financial services at the Bank of England. At the Bank, Peter led teams responsible for the supervision of several large and complex financial services companies, including the insurance firm AIG and investment bank Deutsche Bank. As a senior manager, he evaluated the business models and balance sheets of financial services firms, analysed and scrutinised whether management was appropriately identifying and managing risks to its business, and then created and implemented proactive solutions. This required in-depth understanding of banking and insurance product profiles, corporate strategy, competitive landscape, financial metrics, forecasting models, systems of risk management and governance, capital and liquidity. He also represented the Bank at international conferences and worked in partnership with EU and US regulatory agencies. During his time at the Bank, he was recognised as a subject matter expert in several areas, including financial risk modelling and effective governance of international financial groups.

Before working at the Bank of England, Peter worked as Senior Researcher for the UK Medical Research Council’s Clinical Sciences Centre, where he was part of the Nitric Oxide Signalling Group in the lab of Professor James M. Leiper, PhD.

Peter earned his B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California at Berkeley, and later completed a PhD in Biochemistry from University College London School of Medicine. His thesis research focused on the role of endogenous nitric oxide synthase inhibitors in the modulation of immune and cardiovascular signalling. Peter also worked at the bench in research labs at Stanford University Medical School, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Imperial College London. His works are published in a wide range of peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Peter is based in our San Francisco, West Coast office.
