Our story

Lifescience Dynamics was founded in 2004, and has become a leading source of pharmaceutical consultancy with a truly global presence. Rafaat Rahmani founded the company with his wife Ayesha with just £7,500. In 19 years it has grown organically and now employs teams across the UK, USA, Canada and Poland. The company is still 100% privately owned by founder Rafaat & Ayesha Rahmani, without external funding or partnerships or loan. The majority of work has been on the key decision points within clinical development, marketing strategy, brand optimisation, differentiation, product launch positioning and in patent expiry planning and management.

Founder Rafaat Rahmani was born in a small village in Bihar, India, and from an early age he wanted to create his own business and to make a positive impact on the world. Growing up in poverty in India, he did not have proper schooling until the age of 12 and had to quickly learn basic arithmetic and the English language.

At 17, he moved to the United States, where he studied Business and worked in marketing roles for McDonalds and Pepsi, before heading to the UK to complete an MBA. He joined Eli Lilly & Co as part of their country General Manager development programme. Later, he joined Double Helix, a consulting firm, as vice president of their consulting practice.

The internet boom at the turn of the millennium opened up new possibilities, and inspired Rafaat to jump in and leverage the new tool of the internet. Unfortunately, his initial first two ventures failed, but his third firm was a traditional consulting firm and not focused around technology. He wanted to create a customer-centric, family company with entrepreneurial spirits. A multicultural global company agile enough to work with top 25 pharmaceutical businesses as well as smaller, niche pharma and biotech firms in the US, Europe and Japan. Ethics, quality, service level, customer care and team spirit are at the core of the company.

Business development began slowly for Lifescience Dynamics, with a single service (market research), and the company gradually grew a strong client list thanks to the quality of projects and service levels driven by the expertise and dedication of the team. Since overcoming difficulties during the 2008/2009 economic crash, Lifescience Dynamics has continued to go from strength to strength, establishing itself in key locations globally, developing a range of excellent services, and building strong relationships with prestigious clients from pharma & biotech industries across three continents – USA, Europe and Japan.
