Competitive intelligence
Overview
The pharmaceutical business is one of the most competitive in the world. It's not only other companies which can impact your growth; it's government regulation, changing prescriptive habits, and the demands of bringing your product to profit within its usable patent life. Well informed, intelligence-driven strategy is crucial to success – and that is where competitive intelligence (CI) comes in. CI helps drive decision-making processes across therapy franchise level, corporate level and in R&D. CI influences business development and brand management, among other areas. CI identifies market risks as well as business growth opportunities.
Our CI services have helped many of the top 20 pharma and biotech companies to avoid surprises by proactively managing the future. We deliver timely and valuable results in both scientific and commercial fields.
We specialise in new product development, the impact of loss of patent and competitive analysis. Our CI practice is bound by a strict code of ethics, practised by all our trained professionals. We adhere to the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals' (SCIP) code of ethics.
Our embedded source network includes:
- Regulatory personnel (FDA and EMEA)
- Industry contacts in ethical firms, generic firms, API manufacturers and clinical research organisations
- Investment community
- Pharmaceutical journalists
Our geographic scope is far-reaching, with resources in North America, South America, Central and Western Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim. Our CI experts are composed of multilingual, multidisciplinary professionals who possess thorough experience in their respective local markets.
Services
We undertake two types of project – ad-hoc and monitoring. Our ad-hoc projects might focus on a set of key intelligence topics (KITs) for three to five key competitors or an emerging competitor. Our monitoring projects are ongoing and might include tracking new developments amongst major competitors or assessing the threats in a particular market. We also have significant experience of collecting intelligence from generic and biosimilar companies who are targeting our clients' products and markets.
